WINING & DINING

This month I want to recommend going eastern.
The two restaurants I would like to bring to your attention are fairly new but have been tried by several other people.

The first is the Moathai Marivent. This is easily found directly opposite the Marivent Palace main gate.
Parking is never easy around this area but this restaurant is well worth the bother.
One cannot say too much about the decor although light and sunny; the food however is very good indeed.
The extensive Thai menu is far too long to list here but has a great selection to satisfy anyone’s palate.
Taking the easy route and to test their basic food we went for the menu of the day at real value for money 8.50 Euros (starter and main course only).
On the day we were there the starter was a spicy chicken soup and the choice of main courses was either pork with ginger, beef in oyster sauce or chicken casseroled in coconut and fresh basil.
We went for the chicken and beef- lovely aromatic flavours and just spicy enough. They were both served with fragrant Thai rice.
Looking round the busy restaurant we took note of a number of other dishes that looked all very good which we look forward to trying in the future.

The second oriental restaurant that you should try is the ´free buffet´ Nagoya in Son Armadans, Palma.
You’ll find this restaurant on Joan Miro, directly opposite the road that leads to Belver castle.
Open from midday to 04:30 and then from 19:00 till midnight they offer and eat what you want free buffet for 6.95 Es on weekdays and 7.85 weekends and festival days. They also have a children’s price of 4.95 Es. (prices ex. drink, sweet etc)
The food comes around the restaurant on a conveyor belt for you to choose what you want. There’s a terrific choice so take your time.
