RESTAURANTE LIVING

This month I’m not so much going to recommend you try a new restaurant as to insist that when you finish reading this you pick up the telephone for a reservation because when the word gets round the ´Restaurante Living´ is going to be packed!
Situated very near the Santa Catalina market, Living has been open just a few months.
The decor is extremely well thought out giving it a clean and stylish look of grey and orange with solid natural, teak tables and chairs.
It seats around 50 with a few stools at the bar for pre-meal drinks.
The menu is simplicity itself with half a dozen starters and a selection of Chicken, rabbit and two fish for main courses, all with an ´Italian slant´ but very cosmopolitan in preparation. These I’m told will be changed every month or so.
They also offer a 15 Euro ´menu del Dia´ (with a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 deserts- excluding wine) which we went for.
On the day we went the menu was Tagliatelle with a rabbit ragout / grilled sardines on a fennel salad; Thai chicken with basmati rice / calamares and choritzo salad; tiramasu with a caramelised topping and coffee ice cream / caramelised nuts in a white chocolate and honey sauce.
Everything was excellent: there is no other way to describe the meal!
Service is sharp and if I was churlish enough to complain about anything I could only say that the Frank Sinatra tape was obliviously on ´staff volume´ and not as background music!
