Marina port De Mallorca has once again been presented with Mallorca´s Environmental Award by the Environment and Nature Department of Mallorca Island Council.
The prize, in the Trade and Industry category, was also awarded jointly to water sports facility Pantalán del Mediterranéo and Reciclofusta of the Manacor Cooperative Society.
The marina was recognised for complying with environmental regulations, as well as its extensive waste collection programme, and economic use of drinking water, together with ongoing training of staff in environmental management. It also closely cooperates with associations and ONGs engaged in marine life conservation.
Last year the marina, located in the Paseo Marítimo of Palma de Mallorca, was awarded a UNE ISO 14001:2004 certification for environmental management.
