Dear Peter,
As many readers will know, at Dave´s funeral in May this year, I set up a "donations" fund which I originally wanted to go to Hospital Son Llatzer where Dave had spent a lot of the past 18 months.
He received the best care in there during his long illness and I wanted to show my appreciation to them.
It turned out that this wasn´t going to be an easy task and the money would have been sent to a central fund across Spain, which is not what I had wanted.
I had a rethink about where Dave would´ve wanted the money to go and with the help of one of my closest friends here on the island, we decided on donating the funds to Joves Navegantes, which I did back in October.
Dave was involved with Joves Navegantes many years ago when he was on S/Y "Atalante" and thought it was a very deserving cause.
In this respect, I made the donation in Dave´s memory and handed the money over to Pat Bullock. She was very grateful for the donation and has assured me that a plaque will be placed on board the Joves Navegantes yacht in memory of Dave.
I´m sure he would be happy with my decision and I would like to thank everyone who donated to the fund.
I´d also just like to thank all my friends on the island and elsewhere, for their continued support to me during what has been a difficult year.
